Dentistry is one of very few NHS services you have to pay for. This section explains what you will have to pay for and when you may not have to pay.
All the treatment that your dentist believes is necessary to achieve and maintain good oral health is available on the NHS. This means that the NHS provides any treatment you need to keep your mouth, teeth and gums healthy and free of pain. Depending on what you need to have done, you should only ever be asked to pay one charge for each complete course of treatment, even if you need to visit your dentist more than once to finish it. You will not be charged for individual items within the course of treatment.
If you need urgent care you will need to pay one band 1 charge for urgent treatment, and then you may get free NHS treatment if you meet certain criteria.

WE HAVE BEEN INFORMED THAT DENTAL PRACTICES CAN NO LONGER SEE PATIENTS PERSONALLY. IF A PATIENT NEEDS TO BE SEEN FOR EMERGENCY TREATMENT THIS MUST BE DONE AT A GOVERNMENT DESIGNATED LOCAL URGENT CENTRE FOLLOWING REFERRAL FROM THEIR OWN DENTAL PRACTICE. (More guidance to follow) DENTATA CHARTA DENTAL CENTRE IS ONLY PERMITTED TO PROVIDE TELEPHONE CONSULTATIONS FOR URGENT AND EMERGENCY PATIENTS. WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO PROVIDE ADVICE OR REMOTE PRESCRIPTIONS FOR PAINKILLERS AND ANTIBIOTICS WHEN NECESSARY. (We have teamed up with a local pharmacy to help us in this)
Please take care and stay safe at home!
We look forward to welcoming you back once we are advised to resume normal services.
With good wishes from
THE TEAM AT DENTATA CHARTA DENTAL CENTRE
